For the month of February, the United States Mint continued to sell both 2009 and 2010 Gold Eagle bullion coins. The only weight available was one ounce bullion coins with no indication of when fractional weight coins might be issued this year.

Authorized purchasers have been required to order coins on a three to one basis until the inventory of 2009-dated coins has been depleted. This means that for every three 2010 Gold Eagles they order, they must also order one 2009 Gold Eagle.
The US Mint sold a total of 84,000 of the one ounce Gold Eagles in February 2010. This represents a decline from the year ago period when the US Mint sold 113,500 one ounce coins. For the year to date, sales of gold bullion coins have now reached 169,000 ounces.
During all of 2009, the US Mint had sold 1,625,000 ounces of gold across all available bullion options.
